This concert has a somber, reflective theme running through several works, by Bach, Victoria and a choral setting of Pergolesi's 'Stabat Mater'. The concert also includes a setting of Walt Whitman's poetry by the 20th century American composer, William Schuman in his 3 'Carols of Death'.

September 2010 - New Season
Next season will be a celebration of the choir's 60th anniversary. We will be looking back at some of the highlights of our music making over the last 60 years and featuring some of those pieces in our new season's programme. We hope to commission a new work, to be performed at one of our concerts and also to include choral music by composers, written from 1950 to the present day. Watch this space as we develop our programme in the coming months.
